Alpha Adventure's Cancellation Policy is designed as per the category of your chosen adventure. Please refer to the specific sections below based on your booking.

Himalayan & Backpacking Trips

Applicable for Himalayan Treks and Backpacking Trips (e.g., Kedarkantha, Spiti, etc.)

The ticket is non-refundable but may be transferred to another participant for the current event. Only one transfer is permitted.

The cancellation fee may vary based on the destination and travel date (such as during any event, peak season, etc.). Kindly confirm the exact cancellation timeline with your Travel Expert.

Alpha Adventures Travel Points

We have a Travel Points concept at Alpha Adventures. These are credits issued directly to your account if you cancel an eligible trip.

  • Trek Cost: 10% of the base amount of the trip is deducted as cancellation charges. The remaining amount is instantly calculated and reflected as Travel Points in your respective login.
  • Transport Services: If you booked transport (train/bus/flights) with us, cancellation will be as per the service provider's policies. The amount returned after deducting the provider's cancellation charges will be credited to your Travel Points shortly after tickets are cancelled.
  • Total Credit: Your total Travel Points will equal the remaining trek amount plus the remaining transport amount.

No Travel Points Issued / No Refund Initiated

We are unable to offer Travel Points or Refunds in the following situations:

  • No Show on the day of departure
  • Cancellation made after the respective trek/trip's cancellation timeline
  • Participant expelled from trek/trip
  • Drop Out in journey

Cancellation by Alpha Adventures

In the rare event that Alpha Adventures cancels a scheduled trek or trip due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control, participants will first be offered the option to transfer their booking to an alternative departure date or to another trek/trip of equivalent value. If this option is not suitable, a 100% refund of the trek/trip fee paid to Alpha Adventures will be processed.

Please note that this refund does not include transportation costs such as train, bus, flight, or other travel bookings. Any cancellation charges imposed by the respective transportation service providers will be borne by the participant.

Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

  • Extreme weather conditions, including heavy rainfall, snowfall, storms, floods, landslides, avalanches, or heat waves.
  • Natural disasters or environmental hazards.
  • Government restrictions, administrative orders, or closure of destinations, roads, trails, forests, or protected areas.
  • Road blockages, highway closures, traffic disruptions, or transport strikes affecting accessibility to the destination.
  • Excessive crowding, public gatherings, festivals, protests, or events that may compromise the safety or quality of the experience.
  • Unavailability or shortage of essential resources such as fuel, accommodation, permits, local transport, guides, or other logistical support services.
  • Political unrest, civil disturbances, law and order situations, or security concerns in the region.
  • Epidemics, pandemics, public health emergencies, or travel advisories issued by authorities.
  • Any unforeseen operational, environmental, or safety-related circumstances that, in the sole judgment of Alpha Adventures, make it impractical, unsafe, or inadvisable to operate the trek or trip as planned.

The decision to cancel, postpone, reroute, or modify an itinerary for safety and operational reasons rests solely with Alpha Adventures and will always be taken in the best interests of all participants and staff members.
